A CASED .36 PERCUSSION COLT LONDON 1851 NAVY REVOLVER, serial no. 36436,
for 1855, with octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel signed on the top-flat 'ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON', London proofs, open iron frame with slight traces of colour, plain cylinder scrubbed of scene and with Indian inventory marks, dome-headed London screws, iron grip-straps, chequered walnut one-piece grip and under-barrel rammer with traces of colour, all matching numbers (blued finish lost); together with a period American casing lined and compartmented in blue baize accommodating the revolver, an original James Dixon flask, cleaning rod, Colt style brass mould marked 'W.D.' (William Davis) and numbered '88' (sprue cutter replaced), 'L' shaped nipple-key, cap-tin, breech-brush and oil-bottle, all probably period to this revolver, reproduction parchment instruction label inside lid
