circa 1933, 26in. nitro barrels, the ribs engraved 'CHARLES HELLIS & SONS LTD. 119 EDGEWARE ROAD. HYDE PARK. LONDON. W.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in all, left wall thicknesses at 18 and 19 respectively, treble-grip actions, the toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, the actions and decorative recessed sideplates with best bold acanthus scroll engraving on a matted background and with beaded and feathered bordering, the sides and the undersides with the crossed feather motif, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 15 1/2in. figured stocks including 2in. well matched wooden extensions, weight 6lb. 3oz.
