circa 1860, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch to rear of top-strap, scarce Birmingham proofs, plain five-shot cylinder, two-piece hooked frame with borderline engraved lower half, double action mechanism and chequered semi saw-handled walnut grip, much finish remaining, in a later oak casing with facsimile Hughes trade label and a number of accessories
