A .700 FLINTLOCK SINGLE-SHOT SERVICE PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1760 and possibly cut-down from a Russian musket, with round, tapering 8 1/2in. barrel banded at the breech and struck with a makers mark, brass muzzle-band, solid flared top-tang, flat angled bevel-edged lockplate with stepped pointed tail signed forwards of the hammer possibly in cyrillic, hammer with lozenge-shaped jaws, lozenge shaped pan, squared frizzen, wood full-stock carved around the lock and top-tang, brass short eared butt-cap engraved with a crown over a monogram on the right hand side, faceted trigger-guard tang and bow stamped with a small 'N' beneath a trefoil device and replacement wood brass-tipped ramrod
