one of 2500 2nd. contract carbines made for James Warner delivered between February and March 1865, with round iron 20in. barrel, applied fore-sight with horn blade, folding rear-sight with 'battle' notch and tall blade with two apertures and top notch, London proved rounded brass action with swing-open brass breech-block locking on a catch, the left side of action marked 'GREENE RIFLE WORKS, WORCESTER, MASS, PAT'D 1864' below a short saddle bar with loose ring, central blued hammer, walnut straight hand butt-stock (some age related blind cracks), brass heel-plate and trigger-guard, plunge ejector operated by a slider in the fore-end and single iron barrel-band
