probably German or Swiss circa 1920, with heavy octagonal 26in. 'barrel', the front 7 3/4in. housing the Zimmer mechanism, the mechanism loaded via an external lever mounted back from the muzzle, removable tunnel protected fore-sight on a colour hardened ramp, no provision for rear-sight, colour-hardened micro-adjustable pan-head peep-sight mounted to the top-tang, colour hardened hammerless receiver, chequered walnut half-stock with Tyrolean cheek-piece and heavy colour hardened Swiss-style heel-plate, decorative chequered panel to the right side of butt, moulded schnabel fore-end tip, complex colour-hardened finger-grooved trigger guard bow acting as the cocking lever, double set triggers and swivels for sling, the whole retaining virtually all its factory blue finish and colour
