37 1/4in. round two-stage barrel carved with a needle and tear-drop short sighting-rib with traces of signature, applied spider fore-sight, engraved top-tang with shallow sighting groove, flat, rounded lockplate with moulded border (cleaned, traces of signature), lined touch-hole, rainproof pan (lock reconverted), later replacement top-jaw and screw, replacement walnut full-stock (fore-end spliced at ramrod throat) with raised cheek-piece, brass furniture including ribbon sideplate and competent replacement ramrod
