A CASED PAIR OF 32-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BODIED POCKET PISTOLS SIGNED BECKWITH, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1800, with blued turn-off 1 5/8in. round barrels engraved with bands at muzzles and breech, rounded brass boxlock actions engraved with borders and shield trophies signed 'W.A. BECKWITH' on the left and 'LONDON' on the right, Birmingham proofs, engraved pan tables with rainproof pans and central ring-necked cocks, top-tang safes also locking the frizzens, concealed automatic triggers, smooth bag-shaped grips, in a period walnut case lined and compartmented in red velvet (some fading), the inside of the padded lid with reproduction trade label and containing a number of period but possibly unassociated accessories including a diminutive flask, a loading rod, turnscrew and scissors mould, the outside of lid with plain coin-edged circular escutcheon
