dated for 1864, with 40in. rifled barrel dated at the breech, block and blade fore-sight, dual-blade folding rear-sight, 'A' inspector initial stamped at breech, a US Eagle stamped to nipple-bolster, colour-hardened flat lockplate marked 'U.S. SPRINGFIELD' and eagle device together with the date, walnut full-stock, iron furniture including three blued barrel-band and iron cup-ended ramrod, iron surfaces clean and in good condition with strong traces of colour where appropriate
