A 12-BORE PINFIRE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN SIGNED M. CHAUMONT, LIEGE, no visible serial number,
circa 1865, with 29 3/4in. damascus barrels, the underside signed 'H. VINCENT', scrolled triggerguard underlever with barrel raising stud, slim pinfire fences, back-action island locks, the lockplates gold-inlaid 'M. J. CHAUMONT. FBT. A LIEGE' and with gold line bordering, the hammers inlaid en suite, the whole profusely engraved with bold scrolling floral motifs on a matted background, 14in. unchequered well-figured stock with cheekpiece (minor cracking to left overhorn) including steel buttplate with back strap, diminutive unchequered walnut fore-end with crosspin release (hairline age related cracks) and fitted with sling eyes
