circa 1895, with ovoid 26in. barrel, machine matted top-flat with central panel signed 'CHARLES LANCASTER', dove-tailed bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, the left side of the octagonal breech-section marked '.300 CF', plain squared colour hardened under-lever ejecting action (much colour remaining), the under-lever numbered externally and following the contour of the trigger guard bow, central hammer, period peep-sight fitted to top-tang, chequered walnut semi pistol-grip butt-stock, chequered walnut splinter snap-on fore-end, blued finish faded
