for 1812 and later converted to percussion, with 28in. twist barrels, the raised top-rib with faint traces of signature, bead fore-sight, engraved rib-end at breech with fenced nipples and vented platinum plugs, the top-tang featuring the mask of a leopard, border and scroll engraved locks signed 'JOSEPH MANTON LONDON' and retaining plugged apertures for removed gravitational stops, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, engraved iron furniture, clipped corner escutcheon behind top-tang, brass-mounted ramrod, in a later mahogany case with brass corners and flush folding circular handle to lid, relined and compartmented in green velvet, reproduction trade label (for Hanover Square), together with some period and reproduction accessories
