Product Details

A FINE CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION ADAM'S PATENT REVOLVER SIGNED DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, serial no. 13570R,
circa 1857, with 6 5/8in. blued octagonal barrel, each flat engraved with a borderline, engraved band at the radiused muzzle, dove-tailed fore-sight, shallow standing notch rear-sight to rear of top-strap, the top-strap also engraved with borders and signed 'DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, No. 30 KING WILLIAM ST'T. LONDON BRIDGE' (small amount of finish loss and mild pitting over the word 'BRIDGE'), borderline and scroll engraved blued solid frame with no provision for rammer, swinging safe mounted behind the cylinder to the right, borderline engraved colour hardened plain cylinder with five chambers and an engraved band to the leading edge, double action only mechanism with spurless hammer, swept and chequered semi saw-handled walnut grip, engraved and moulded grip-cap with central trap and guarded trigger, much original finish remaining throughout and appearing little used, complete with a period oak storage case lined and compartmented in green baize (probably from a 38-bore model but almost certainly as supplied) and including a period flask, patent mould, loading rod and nipple key along with assorted sundry accessories, the inside of lid with yellow Deane Adams & Deane parchment trade label, all also remaining in fine condition

Provenance: The slightly longer than usual barrel on this revolver may be the reason it is in a larger than usual case, although the pair appear to have been together for a long time
