circa 1900, 28in. nitro barrels with sunken rib, tubes engraved 'FINISHED BY ALEXANDER HENRY & CO, 22. FREDERICK ST. EDINBURGH.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, asymmetric scroll-back treble-grip action with removable striker discs, incorporating Horton patent 'Poly grip' toplever, patent no. 20,940 of 1st December 1891, broad top strap and fluted fences, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, Deeley patent ejectors, patent no. 4269 of 1886, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving surrounding 'ALEX HENRY & CO.' engraved within a scrolling ribbon, retaining some original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. figured stock, bolstered fore-end wood, 6lb. 7oz., in a leather hammer guncase with William Horton '98 Buchanan Street, Glasgow' address, and with a Horton label with inked '2455' gun number
