A PAIR OF 46-BORE FLINTLOCK RIFLED BOXLOCK TRAVELLING PISTOLS WITH SPRUNG-BAYONETS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1810, with deeply rifled Birmingham proved turn-off 2 5/8in. octagonal barrels signed on the top-flats 'SMITH LONDON', borderline engraved breech-blocks, engraved squared actions with radiused corners and central ring-necked cocks, rainproof pans, concealed automatic triggers, sliding safes also locking the pans, chequered walnut bag-shaped butts with clipped-corner rectangular escutcheons, each engraved with a rampant lion, spring-steel belt-hooks mounted to the left side of actions, sprung triangular profile bayonets mounted to the right (one locking piece and one hinge-mount fractured)
