A CONTINENTAL 14.5mm (RIMFIRE) SERVICE CARBINE SIGNED LOUISE BENTZ, serial no. 859,
possibly a Terssen Patent circa 1859, with octagonal in the white 25in. barrel, the last 4 1/4in. turned to the round and fitted with a bayonet lug, block and blade fore-sight, elevating tangent rear-sight, flip-up breech-block, the rear of action signed 'LOUISE BENTZ', brushed bright bevel-edged lock with side-hammer, walnut three-quarter stock with raised cheek-piece (cracked and repaired below lock), iron furniture including guard with spurred tang, nose-cap (possibly modified) and under-barrel clearing rod
