A RARE 10.66mm (.42 BERDAN) EXPERIMENTAL BERDAN MODEL 1867 BREECH-LOADING RIFLE, serial no. 1,
circa 1867, with reblued 32 1/2in. barrel (some shallow pitting below finish), block and dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight on a sprung base serving to lock the lift-up brushed bright breech (serial numbered '1' to the underside), inline cocking piece to rear, walnut full-stock (cracked through at hand and repaired), iron furniture and under-barrel clearing rod, bayonet lug at muzzle, together with notes on the rifle an a proof exemption certificate dated 1983
