circa 1865, with well rebrowned 29in. twist damascus barrels (light frosting below finish), the top-rib signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS, 170 NEW BOND ST LONDON' (rubbed), Westley Richards patent single bite action with waisted top-lever, patent no. 2623 of 1864, the breech face with patent use number '5', borderline engraved bar-action locks signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS', borderline engraved hammers, well restocked (possibly period by the makers) in walnut with chequered wrist, 'crab-claw' joint at hinge, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with moulded horn tip and cross-key fastener, in a canvas covered mahogany case lined and compartmented in green baize, with parchment maker's and instruction labels
