28in. nitro barrels, ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2', and engraved ''WILLIAM EVANS LTD. 67A. ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. W.1.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 (No.1) and 1/2 and 3/4 choke (No.2), carved slender fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, rolled-edge triggerguards, the actions, lockplates and furniture profusely engraved with bold filiciform and acanthus scroll designs with beaded bordering, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, 14 3/4in. figured stocks including 3/4in. leather covered recoil pads, weight 6lb. 6oz., in their lightweight leather motor case with some accessories
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were ordered with 28in. barrels on 1st February 1973 by O.L. Peacock.
