A 16-BORE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMER RIFLE CONVERTED TO SHOT AND BALL, serial no. 4418,
for 1872, 25 3/4in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2024), matt rib with rear open-sights and bead fore-sight, tubes engraved 'JOSEPH LANG & SONS. 22. COCKSPUR STREET. PALL MALL. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, the majority of the barrels smoothbored with rifling remaining at muzzles, sprung rotary-underlever, the surround engraved 'LANG'S PATENT', non-rebounding back-action locks with bolted hammers, carved serpentine fences, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. pistolgrip stock including buttplate, with sling eyes and engraved pistolgrip-cap, weight 8lb. 9oz., in its makers canvas and leather case with majority of bullet mould with sprue cutter
