circa 1890, 28in. nitro replacement barrels (in 1960), the rib engraved 'J. BLANCH & SON, 6, MITER STREET, ALDGATE, LONDON.' (sic), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and full choke, treble-grip action with hidden third bite, toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving surrounding game scene vignettes of pointer, partridge and pheasant, the triggerguard with further scenes of pointer, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 15in. stock including 7/8in. ebonite extension, weight 6lb. 8oz.
