circa 1890, 30in. 'Whitworth's steel' black powder barrels (some pits), rib engraved 'WILLIAM GRIFFITHS. MANCHESTER.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, W. Phillipson & W. Baker patent ejectors, patent No. 8323 of 1889, treble-grip action with carved serpentine fences, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, acanthus scroll engraving, the triggerguard engraved with a hound on point,14 1/2in. stock with engraved steel heel and toe plates, weight 6lb. 9oz.
