A .577 SNIDER / ENFIELD MK I* CANADIAN ISSUE BREECH-LOADING THREE BAND SERVICE RIFLE, no visible serial number,
circa 1859, with 36in. Enfield proofed barrel retaining much original fading blue, barleycorn front-sight and ladder rear-sight, the hinged breech block stamped 'W.D.' together with an Enfield inspection stamp, the lock with the Crown V.R. cypher on the tail and '1859 / ENFIELD' to the centre, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock, the right side of the butt bearing an Enfield 1st Class roundel, and 'D.C.' (Dominion of Canada) in a diamond on the left, complete with sling swivels, snap-cap and chain, and original square headed rod, some abrading to the base of the butt
