A .577/.450 MARTINI-HENRY 'NEPALESE MKIV' LONG-LEVER ENFIELD SERVICE RIFLE, serial no. B5254, with bayonet and book
the rifle dated for 1887, with reblued 33in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight marked 'N.E.P' below, long nocksform, reblued action marked 'ENFIELD' below a crown 'V.R.' device and above the date, a further crown and arrow mark and above 'IV' over 'I', traces of a sold out of service double arrow mark, walnut butt-stock with farsi stamps and a '1908' date mark, long under-lever, full-length walnut fore-end with two barrel-bands, bayonet bar to the front example and fitted with a straight sword bayonet dated 1891 with chequered composite grips and iron-mounted leather scabbard and a later canvas sling, together with a copy of the publication 'The Martini Henry, For Queen & Empire' by Neil Aspinshaw
