circa 1947, 28in. nitro barrels with file cut Churchill-rib, the tubes engraved 'A.M. LEMLIN LITTLE SHADWELL ST. BIRMINGHAM. 4.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip action with hidden third bite, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the fences finely carved in high relief with floral designs on a matted background, bold acanthus scroll engraving surrounding finely executed game scenes of pheasant and partridge, the toplever with a grouse, the floorplate with a retriever and mallard, the triggerguard with a further mallard, retaining much colour-hardening and finish, 15 3/4in. figured stock including 1 1/4in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 7oz., in a canvas case
