A 12-BORE PERKES 1878 (NO.2) PATENT 'TRADEMARK C QUALITY' SIDELOCK NON-EJECTOR, serial no. 11961,
for 1884, 28in. sleeved steel to damascus nitro barrels (by Westley Richards in 1962), rib engraving worn mostly illegible, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, Perkes patent treble-grip action, no. 1968 of 16th May 1878, use number 493, cocking lever return studs removed, automatic safety, slightly dipped-edge lockplates with stepped tails, border and partial scroll engraving, retaining traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14 3/4in. figured stock (likely replacement, cast towards central vision), weight 7lb. 3oz.
