circa 1805, with tapering round 34in. barrel, bead fore-sight, raised sighting groove to the top-tang, the breech with a carved and engraved short rib terminating in a star-burst, gold inlaid poincon marked in raised letters 'WARRANTED PROOF' and a gold line at breech, gold-lined touch-hole, flat border engraved lock signed 'J. WALLIS', small panel of floral engraving to tail, border engraved cock also featuring a bird in flight, borderline engraved frizzen, roller-bearing frizzen spring, rainproof pan, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (crack through side-nail, inlet repair below bar of lock), iron furniture including raised scrolled trigger-guard tang, raised cheek-piece, under-barrel rib with turned thimbles and brass mounted wood ramrod
