dated for 1858 with 1859 modification overstamp, round 35in. barrel, blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional large folding leaves, octagonal receiver with turn-bolt action, the receiver marked with the 'SPANDAU' eagle trademark on the left and dated on the right, walnut full-stock with brass furniture including two barrel bands and twin-banded nose-cap, under-barrel iron clearing rod and provision for bayonet, iron surfaces with shallow pitting
