serial number on under rib only, circa 1874, 29 7/8in. rebrowned etched damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'GEORGE GIBBS. 28. CORN STREET. BRISTOL', Gibbs & Pitt patent triggerplate action, patent no. 284 of 1873, use number 24, manual side lever safety, small chip to underside at underlever spring, acanthus scroll engraving (some wear overall), 14 3/8in. stock including horn buttplate, weight 6lb. 7oz.
Other Notes: Sold with a Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House Certificate of unprovability - expressly stating the gun is not suitable for use and should not be fired. Certificate No. C 3448, December 1st 1988
