A PATTERN 1821 WORLD WAR I LIGHT CAVALRY SWORD FOR THE VI DRAGOON GUARDS CARABINIERS,
circa 1912, with 34 1/2in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, etched with King's crown above 'VI th / DRAGOON / GUARDS / (CARABINIERS)' above battle honours Sevastopol and Delhi, with King's crown above Royal Cypher over, ricasso with brass 'proved' plug, blade spine with feather-shafted arrow mark, 3-barred guard, wire-bound fish-skin grip, together with its brown leather scabbard with nickelled steel chape and Household Cavalry buff leather parade sword-knot, extreme tip of blade rusted, but otherwise clean and fresh, hilt with some surface rust to the interior of the guard and wear to the fish-skin, plus shallow blinded pitting to the grip strap, scabbard with some grazing and a little seam splitting near the chape, bottom of the drag with light rusting, 42in. overall length
