A PAIR OF 12-BORE 1887 PATENT ROUND-ACTION TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTORS, serial no. 5960 / 1,
for 1907, 29in. nitro reproved Krupp-steel chopperlump barrels, the ribs engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON, 63, PRINCES STREET, EDINBURGH.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, No.1 left wall at 19, light wear to bluing with rust spotting, Dickson patent round-actions incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use numbers 1269 and 1270, the toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', No.2 with sweep to thumbpiece, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, profusely engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork and with scrolling banners engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON PATENT' to the sides, 15 1/8in. boldly-figured stocks (likely historic replacements), weight 6lb. 8oz., in their brass-cornered oak and leather case
