A JAPANESE KATANA WITH SIGNED AND ENGRAVED BLADE,
with 27 1/2in. slightly curved blade, visible 'hamon', later carved 'horimono' featuring a dragon chasing a flaming pearl on the left hand side of blade and straight lines terminating in simplified characters on the right, brass 'habaki', the tang signed on both sides with single 'mekugi-ana', circular iron tsuba of pieced design featuring stylised birds in flight and later wrapping and hilt furniture, in a plain black laquered 'saya'
