SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', carved arcaded fences, removable striker discs, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best fine acanthus scroll engraving, the makers name in elaborate cartouches on the lockplates, bright and blued finish, 14 1/2in. boldly-figured replacement stocks with matching fore-end woods, weight 6lb. 9oz., in a brass-cornered oak and leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that gun No. 5842 was completed in 1906 for Robert Cox Esq. with a 14in. stock and 29in. barrels; gun no. 6121 was completed in 1909 for the same client and is noted as being built to match No. 5842 and form a pair.
They also kindly confirm that both guns had new barrels fitted by them in January 1974, chambered for 2 3/4in. cartridges and choked 1/4 and 1/2
