circa 1879, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel, blued steel fore-sight, sighting groove to top-strap, blued fluted cylinder, blued solid frame marked 'W. TRANTERS PATENT' and sold out of service marks, chequered walnut one-piece grip, iron butt-cap and lanyard ring, ordnance marks stamped to grip and grip-strap, barrel-mounted ejector rod (cylinder arbor rod retaining catch missing) and good traces of original blued finish
