A 10-BORE (2 5/8IN.) ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 1000,
32in. nitro reproved blacked bold damascus barrels, broad rib engraved 'W.R. PAPE. MAKER. NEWCASTLE ON TYNE. WINNER OF THE LONDON GUN TRIALS IN 1858 & 1859' and with acanthus scroll engraving at the breech ends, elongated top-strap, rotary-underlever, permanently-attached fore-end, non-rebounding back-action locks, fine acanthus scroll engraving, reblued finish overall, 15 1/4in. figured stock including steel buttplate, ornately bordered chequering, fore-end with some damage to edges, weight 8lb. 8oz.

Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed as a stock order in August 1865 with 32in. barrels.
