circa 1855, with blued octagonal 3 1/2in. barrel, the top-flat and strap signed 'MANUF,D BY A. & CIE, LICENCED BY DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, LONDON', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to rear of top-strap, plain blued cylinder, border-line and scroll engraved blued frame marked on the left hand side 'ADAMS PATENT 1851' together with 'TRANTERS PATENT', the right hand side marked 'ADAMS PATENT' with the number, spurless hammer, extended trigger through the trigger-guard bow, one-piece chequered walnut grip with ebony shell-carved pommel, single spring-bar hammer safe, single spring-bar cylinder release and hinged, articulated captive rammer on the left side of barrel, the whole retaining much original blued finish TOGETHER WITH its manufacturers original mahogany storage case, yellow 'A. FRANCOTTE for DEANE ADAMS & DEANE' trade label with London address, the interior compartmented and lined in its original green baize and retaining a full compliment of accessories including a lozenge flask, nickel oil-bottle, separate loading and cleaning rod and a brass double cavity bullet mould
