circa 1795 with 4in. smoothbore octagonal barrels, the top-flats boldly signed 'RIVIERE LONDON', turned bead fore-sights, engraved top-tangs and breech-ends, flat bevel-edged stepped tail locks signed 'RIVIERE', sliding safes behind the scroll engraved hammers, semi-rainproof pans, roller bearing frizzen-springs, walnut full-stocks with plain bag-shaped butts (one expertly repaired through wrist), engraved iron furniture and later horn-tipped wooden rammers
