A .45 (ACP) SEMI-AUTOMATIC SERVICE-PISTOL, MODEL '1911A1 GOVERNMENT', serial no. 931260,
for 1943, with 5in. barrel, matt phosphated slide with crescent fore-sight and dove-tailed notch rear-sight, the left hand side of slide stamped with makers address and patent dates to 1913, the right hand side marked 'COLT' together with the calibre and trademark, phosphated frame marked 'UNITED STATES PROPERTY' together with 'US ARMY', chequered brown plastic grips, the whole retaining virtually all its original phosphated finish.
