A .577-450 (M/H) SINGLE-SHOT SPORTING RIFLE, MODEL 'MARTINI'S PATENT', serial no. Z7539,
circa 1900, with round 28in. barrel signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO' above 'SPECIAL QUALITY', the latter bisected with a triangle trade-mark, blade fore-sight, five leaf folding 'African' rear-sight with additional standing notch and elevating adjustable ladder sight, border and scroll engraved slab-sided receiver with cocking indicator and safety mounted to the right hand side, chequered pistol-grip walnut butt-stock (chipped at head), iron heel-plate with central trap-door, under-lever with ringed tip, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with horn tip and fitted with eyelets for sling (fair traces of original finish under surface corrosion)
