30in. nitro barrels, the rib engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.' (wall thicknesses below recommended minimum) and gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 14 1/4in. replacement stock, weight 6lb. 2oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed as No.2 of a pair in August 1897 with 30in. barrels for H. Philipps.
