A 25-BORE FLINTLOCK CONTINENTAL HOLSTER-PISTOL, UNSIGNED, numbered 17,
probably French or Belgian circa 1780, with round tapering 9in. barrel, brass boat-shaped fore-sight, carved sighting-rib, octagonal hooked breech, plain flat bevel-edged lockplate with stepped tail, walnut full-stock with birds-head butt, brass butt-cap engraved '17' with flambeau rear spur, brass rococco escutcheon to wrist, brass trigger-guard, ramrod throat and pipe, horn fore-end tip and possible replacement horn-tipped ramrod
