A GOOD SHIN-GUNTO MOUNTED JAPANESE ARMY OFFICERS SWORD, 'KATANA'
World War Two mounted with earlier 26in. blade, signed on the tang and stamped with a mark probably of the furniture fitter with traces of a black painted signature to the reverse, silver 'habaki', standard military 'shin-gunto' mounts with locking catch (gilding worn), alloy 'saya' with good traces of original green paint and one suspension ring (some slight mottling and tiny edge nicks to blade)
