30in. nitro reproved blued damascus barrels, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx.1/2 choke in both, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum, T. Perkes patent barrel-cocking hammerless action, patent no. 1968 of 16th May 1878, use number 363, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, cocking-indicators, finely engraved with scrolling acanthus, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 3/8in. figured stock (likely historic replacement with matching fore-end wood), steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 6lb. 4oz., in a brass-cornered canvas case
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was ordered October 1888 with 30in. barrels by Frederick Sassoon of 30 Dukes St. [London].
