circa 1914, with blued round 25in. barrel signed 'MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO LTD', block and blade fore-sight (retaining its original spring-steel foresight protector), micro-adjustable rear-sight, plain receiver drilled for a telescopic sight mount and marked with the makers address and trademark on the left hand side and 'COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA' on the right, a silhouette of a kangaroo engraved to the receiver-bridge, plain walnut straight-hand butt-stock with iron heel-plate, under-lever opening and walnut three-quarter fore-end with one iron barrel-band, complete with a period leather sling
