28in. octagonal barrel with matt sighting flat, bead fore-sight and rear-sight of one standing and two folding leaves calibrated for 60 and 100 yards, each with gold-inlaid centre-lines, the top planes engraved 'J. LANG & SONS. 22. COCKSPUR STREET. LONDON.', Jones-patent rotary underlever, non-rebounding back-action curved lock, fine border and scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. pistolgrip stock with engraved steel pistolgrip cap, the stock with a circular escutcheon bearing 'D' surmounted by the coronet of a Viscount, the fore-end with cross-pin release and horn finial
