30 1/4in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (slightly shortened, pitted, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum), the rib engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND ST. LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. in both, action incorporating Scott patent toplever and Purdey double-bite, Scott patent 2752 of 25th October 1865, use number 31957 and Purdey patent 1104 of 2nd May 1863, carved percussion fences, rebounding back action lockplates, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip cap, including 1in. ebonite extension, weight 6lb. 10oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed for a Mr. Watson, the date is indistinct in the ledger.
