circa 1809, possibly re-converted from percussion, with 32in. two-stage re-browned barrel banded at the intersection, boat-shaped fore-sight, blued hooked breech with white-metal inlayed poincon marked 'JOSEPH MANTON PATENT', platinum line, fully engraved re-coloured top-tang, slightly curved flat re-coloured lock signed 'JOSEPH MANTON, LONDON', border engraved with a martial trophy to the tail, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist together with a clipped-corner silver escutcheon, long-spurred engraved iron heel-plate, border and scroll engraved trigger-guard bow, pineapple finial, and original brass-mounted mahogany ramrod TOGETHER WITH its original manufacturers walnut case, compartmented and lined in green baize (some moth and small losses) and complete with a parchment Joseph Manton trade label and a period leather shot-flask
