circa 1840, with octagonal 5in. barrels, bead fore-sights, scroll engraved colour hardened breech-blocks with twin platinum lines, standing notch rear-sight to the border and scroll engraved top-tangs, flat, slightly curved border and scroll engraved locks signed 'ELSAM', sliding safes behind the scroll engraved slab-sided hammers, walnut full-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts, border and scroll engraved trigger-guard bows and captive iron ramrods (small losses to edge of fore-end on one pistol)
