30in. nitro reproved lined bold damascus barrels, rib engraved 'G. JEFFRIES. NORWICH. PATENT DOUBLE LUMP', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, G. Jeffries patent double-lump snap-action, patent no. 3442 of 8th October 1874, later simple sliding bolt design, carved percussion fences, Jefferies patent broad toplever, patent no. 4351 of 15th December 1875, rebounding stepped punctiform back-action locks with chequered tails, shouldered action bar engraved 'G. JEFFRIES PATENT', the bridge with the patent details, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. highly-figured stock, finely sculpted to the contours of the lockplates at the head, chequering refreshed, ebonite buttplate, fore-end with early Anson push rod release catch, patent no. 3791 of 14th December 1872, use number 1554, weight 7lb. 1oz.
