28in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels (by the makers in 1999), tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. BRUTON STREET. LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, hand-detachable lockplates, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, chequered front trigger, best bold Royal scroll engraving, the underside with a cartouche engraved 'ROYAL MODEL', the cross pin with the legend 'MADE IN ENGLAND', bright finish overall, 14 5/8in. well-figured stock, slightly swept at comb, including 1/2in. wooden buttplate, weight 6lb. 14oz., in a lightweight leather case with applied Holland & Holland labels
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed with 26 1/2in. barrels in May 1961 for 'Langmeade', and that they subsequently re-barrelled the gun in April 2000.
